How long does it take to assemble different furniture?
Approximate assembly times for a bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe, sliding-door wardrobe, wall unit and kitchen, plus what can change the timing.
Why timing is not the same for every item
Assembly time depends on the number of packages, construction, mechanisms, leveling and site conditions. Two items with the same name may take different time if one has more drawers, sliding doors or needs wall fixing.
That is why the timings below are approximate. For a more accurate estimate, it is best to send photos of the packages, the manual or a product link.
Approximate time by furniture type
Bed: usually between 45 minutes and 2 hours depending on size and mechanism.
Chest of drawers: around 45 minutes to 2 hours, with more drawers requiring more adjustment.
Two-door wardrobe: approximately 1.5 to 3 hours depending on height and internal layout.
Three-door wardrobe: often between 2.5 and 4 hours, especially with many shelves and drawers.
Sliding-door wardrobe: around 3 to 5 hours because of rails, mechanisms and final leveling.
Wall unit: approximately 1.5 to 4 hours depending on the number of modules and wall mounting.
Kitchen: usually from half a day to a full day, and larger or non-standard kitchens may take longer.
How to plan the visit
It helps if the packages are in the room where assembly will happen, the work area is clear and all parts are available. For kitchens and wardrobes, it is important to clarify uneven walls, cutouts, wall fixing or extra adjustments.
